Will the watermark tool alter my original PDF content?
No. The watermark is added as a new text layer on top of each page. All your original content — text, images, tables, fonts, and layouts — remains 100% untouched. Only the watermark layer is added.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
Your file is temporarily processed on our secure server solely to apply the watermark. It is never stored, shared, logged, or retained after the download link is generated. The file is discarded immediately after processing.
What positions can I place the watermark?
You can choose from five positions: Center (diagonal, the most prominent), Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, and Bottom Right. The live preview shows exactly how the watermark will appear before you download.
Can I control the watermark opacity?
Yes. You can set the opacity anywhere from 10% (subtle, barely visible) to 100% (fully opaque). A lower opacity is ideal for draft documents where readability must be preserved; a higher opacity is best for confidential or branded documents.
What is the maximum PDF file size?
You can watermark PDFs up to 20MB in size. If your PDF is larger, consider using our Compress PDF tool first to reduce the file size before watermarking.
